MUSIC:Singing is LIFE!

Don't you agree with my title? For those who LOVE singing like me, you must feel the same way.

Anyway, I hope that I would be able to post up my recordings, like those youtube singers, on my own website to show it off. I have performed a couple of times in my entire lifetime but I am not exactly please with my performance but of course, I am deeply appreciative of the chances that I had. :)

My Singing " Career"
Since young, my parents love to turn on the Karaoke and sing. I guess I was greatly influenced and I sang along with them. While growing up, my mother loved to buy CDs to play them in the car whenever we travel around and I would singalong without knowing the exact lyrics. It was quite amusing to find out later the actual lyrics.

Primary School Years
I had joined a singing competition with my father's encouragement when I was really young. Probably around  primary 2 or smaller? Guess what. I had gotten 2nd placing! You must think that I am a pro but the sad thing was that there were only 3 contestants. Go ahead and laugh because I find it funny myself too. The placings were obvious as the winner was like those chinese TV variety show contestant and she wore a really flashy costume and sashayed like crazy on the stage while singing. I, on the other hand, stood still with a microphone in my hand and sang Lemon Tree. The third placing boy sat on a stool and sang nervously while forgetting chunks of his lyrics. It's good to have some moments to look back on.

I went on to sing 'Barbie doll' by Aqua with my cousin during one of my uncles wedding dinner. I felt quite embarrassed after singing the lyrics wrongly. Oh well.

In primary school, my class used to have singing competitions among ourselves and I would always pair up with my primary school bestie for those sessions. Oh! I remember singing on the stage twice in primary school. Once for teacher's day and the other for my graduation. My singing 'career' had indeed came a long way. The teacher's day performance was really memorable as the entire hall sang along to the song that we sang- M2M's Everything you do. How touching:)

Secondary School Years
I went to audition for my Secondary school's talent contest, Kranji Idol, and I sang twice with 2 girls who loved singing too. Sadly, we didn't get into the finals but my teacher said something that made me feel like a winner already. She said, "You should audition on your own. Your voice is really good.". Aww... How sweet.

Polytechnic Years
Once again, I took part in my division's talent competition with my friend, Jun Lin who played the guitar. We got in into the semi-finals but I decided to withdraw for some reason which I cannot remember. Possibly a lack of confidence.

University Years-NOW
I went to audition for my current CCA- Voices and I was over the moon to have gotten in. I have already performed twice to a large audience but I am not satisfied with my performances thus far. My next performance would be in August. So excited yet frightened. ALL THE WAY YEAH! WOOOOSH!
