Went to Orchard today and on my way to Takashimaya, I saw this shop called LUSH! It brought back memories of the time when I was in Japan-Osaka when I first chanced upon this shop. Singapore, at that time, had yet have any LUSH stores.
I like the colourful interior of the place with its nice aroma in the air. This time round, I was attracted to the Fresh Face Mask! As I am quite ingredient conscious about cosmetic products these days, I immediately read the ingredient list and I was pleasantly surprised to find the lack of those commonly suspected cancer-causing chemicals like parabens. Since my masks at home has depleted, I decided to get it though it was quite pricey (~s$25 for 2-3 weeks supply). Since it was freshly made and there were no preservatives added, the mask could not be kept for an extended period of time and hence, I had to finish it in 2-3 weeks. It was quite an impulse buy but my weakness is really good quality facial products. I had to try it!!
Anyway, I have just tried using the mask for my first time. The smell was quite soothing and the mask was easy to wash off. I did not see any big change in my skin condition but I think that it is premature to judge it. I would continue using it every 2 to 3 days and hopefully, it would help curb those annoying pimples and help calm those red spots!
I got kinda crazy and ended taking some "kua tio gui" shots of myself with the mask on. "Kua tio gui" is an exclamation in hokkien(a dialect) when people see something shocking. Let me share those pictures with you and you can laugh all you want! Don't take life too seriously:)
For Your Information
On a serious note, to find out more about why I am so ingredient conscious about cosmetic products, I urge you to read about the ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING GROUP. The products that we use in our daily life are not all that safe and it is important to know what you are handling to safeguard yourself and your loved ones. In my opinion, it is better to be safe than sorry and hence, be aware and take charge of your own health through the power of knowledge. Read up and be a little more cautious!
